Artist Statement

Art is feeling; art is passion.

My artwork is the expression of my emotions. Since emotions are ephemeral, I utilize wet-on-wet oil painting, impasto, and loose brushstrokes to emphasize and to exhibit these fleeting sensations. I am currently exploring how different colors and brushstrokes can elicit certain emotions in nature landscapes.

There is too much emphasis placed on critiquing modern society in contemporary art. My goal is to recapture the unique essence of nature in my paintings. I want my audience to feel — not think — when they see my artwork.
